Hypnosis (Japanese: さいみんじゅつ Hypnosis) is a non-damaging Psychic-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generations I-III

Hypnosis puts the target to sleep.

Hypnosis can't affect a target that already has a major status ailment.

In Stadium, Hypnosis can't affect a target that has a substitute.

Hypnosis has an accuracy of 60%.

Generation IV and V

In Diamond and Pearl, accuracy was improved to 70%. In Platinum, it was changed back to 60%.

A special Psychic-type move. The target is hypnotized into a deep sleep.
May put the foe to sleep.
RSE A hypnotizing move that may induce sleep.
FRLG Hypnotic suggestion is used to make the foe fall into a deep sleep.
Conq The user employs hypnotic suggestion to make the target fall into a deep sleep.
