Gust (Japanese: かぜおこし Stir Up Wind) is a damage-dealing Flying-type move introduced in Generation I, though it was a Normal-type move in Generation I. Prior to Pokémon Yellow, it was one of the signature moves of the Pidgey evolution line.

Effect

Generation I

Gust deals damage and has no secondary effect. It is a Normal-type move in this Generation.

Generation II to IV

Gust became a Flying-type move in Generation II and kept this status in subsequent generations. Gust does damage and will double the damage on an opponent that is in the first stage of Fly or Bounce.

Generation V

Gust can hit non-adjacent opponents in Triple Battles.

Description

Games Description
A Normal-type attack used by bird Pokémon. A powerful wind is generated by flapping wings.
A Flying-type attack. The bird Pokémon flaps its wings to create a powerful wind.
Whips up a strong gust of wind.
RSEFRLG Strikes the foe with a gust of wind whipped up by wings.
Hits target with a gust of wind whipped up by wings.
A gust of wind is whipped up by wings and launched at the foe to inflict damage.
A gust of wind is whipped up by wings and launched at the target to inflict damage.
