- Octillery is the only non-Poison-type Pokémon to learn this move by level up.
- None of the Pokémon that learn this move by level up have a secondary type.
- It has the highest base power of all Poison-type moves.
- Most of the Pokémon that learn this move via tutoring are Pokémon based on primates; in fact, every Pokémon that happens to be based on primates can learn the move, possibly referencing their tendency to attack natural enemies with chemical warfare.
