Gordie is the sixth Gym Leader [[Galar]] {{pkmn|Trainer}}s face in their [[Galar League|Gym Challenge]] in Pokémon Sword. As a rising star, many believed he has the potential of becoming the [[Galar League]] {{pkmn|Champion}}. Gordie uses {{type|Rock}} Pokémon to achieve victory through a refined and graceful battle style, despite the type's rough and unrelenting reputation. He is considered one of the strongest Galar Trainers in terms of popularity and skills. He has a tendency to shut himself away in a locker room when he loses, making it hard to get an interview from him. Most of his fans find this trait to be endearing regardless. He has quite a large fanbase, and he tries his best to make his fans happy by either giving out autographs or hosting events. Currently, there are three photo albums on Gordie that were created by his fanbase.

In [[PASS29]], [[Macro Cosmos]] employees were dispatched to deal with the Dynamax Pokémon, allowing Gordie's group to provide backup for the others against {{p|Eternatus}}. By the time they arrived, Gordie's group found Eternatus had fled, leaving those who battled it unconscious and covered in poison. The injured were taken to a hospital to recover.
