The Flower Mail (Japanese: はながらメール Floral Pattern Mail) is a type of Mail exclusive to the Generation II games.

Effect

Held item

Causes the secondary effect of Thief to fail when used on holder. Pokémon holding this cannot be placed in the PC.

Other uses

In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, a Flower Mail can be delivered from Route 35 to Route 31 to receive TM50 (Nightmare). While it is originally held by a Spearow, the player can deliver the mail with any Pokémon. Reporting the successful delivery also earns the player an HP Up.

In the western version of Pokémon Crystal, a Flower Mail can be traded for a Revive at the Goldenrod Pokémon Center.

In The Last Battle VIII, Silver revealed that as Green had used her Abra to teleport him away earlier, his Sneasel had used Thief to steal the Flower Mail held by Abra. The Mail contained a map that told Silver of Green's plan to go to Ilex Forest.
