Fitzwilliam (Japanese: ヨシミツ Yoshimitsu) is Drake's first mate and a character of the day who appeared in Vanity Affair.

Fitzwilliam

Fitzwilliam first appeared when waving at Drake when the ship was coming near land. He watched Ash's battle against Drake from the sidelines. When May stated that Drake was not so strong—for a person in the Elite Four—Fitzwilliam told them not to be so sure, and to wait and see what he meant. Fitzwilliam also explained what Drake's strategy was with his Shelgon, when the Pokémon knocked out Pikachu. He also preempted Ash's mast-climbing strategy when he sent out Grovyle, who had the type disadvantage, against Drake's Altaria. Fitzwilliam recognized Ash's out-of-the-box battle strategy as the reason for Drake deciding to challenge him.
