At first, Trainers will need to go through it to get to {{rt|113|Hoenn}} and [[Fallarbor Town]] because they lack the [[Go-Goggles]] needed to pass by {{rt|111|Hoenn}}'s [[desert]]. Later, players may return with {{HM|04|Strength}} to find rare items, and in Generation VI, an entrance to a Secret Base.

The Fiery Path made an appearance in the beginning of ''[[AG053|Game Winning Assist]]''. {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}} tried to use it as a shortcut on their way to [[Lavaridge Town]], but ended up angering a group of wild {{p|Slugma}} when [[May's Skitty]] let itself out of its [[Poké Ball]] and attacked them. The group barely managed to escape the pack of angry {{type|Fire}}s when Ash had {{AP|Pikachu}} use {{m|Iron Tail}} on a crack on the wall, opening them a way outside.
