Origin
Ferroseed may be based on durians or conkers, seeds from horse-chestnut trees, both of which are known for their tough skin and thorns. It may also be based on a mace or flail.
Name origin
Ferroseed is a combination of the Latin ferrum meaning "iron" and seed. Similarly, Tesshido is likely a combination of 鉄 tetsu, iron, and シード shīdo, seed.
