(Japanese: タケル Takeru) is a character of the day who appeared in XY125
Takeru saw Ash being interviewed by Malva at the Lumiose Conference and then planned on challenging him to a battle. Takeru later found Ash and asked him for a battle, to which Ash agreed to, until Clemont stopped the battle from starting, by telling Ash that if he battled, then he might be late for registering for the Conference. Takeru later came across Ash in a hallway in the Conference's stadium and the two battled. Takeru sent out his Kabuki Trim Furfrou and Ash chose his Pikachu to battle. After a couple of attacks from both Pokémon, Ash eventually won the match. After Ash won, Takeru started crying whilst on his knees, to which Ash consoled the sad Trainer. This battle caused Ash to be late for his first battle in the Conference and after Ash left Takeru to go to his battle, Takeru was seen sitting against one of the walls in the same hallway and smirking.
