It was not a mistranslation since James and Jessie's lines were also changed a bit, to be in-context. Also, it may be a little over-the-edge, I remember that the local channel I used to watch cut the whole TR scene out, so I think it's worth mentioning.

* The scene where Ash first challenges Prima to a battle was cut short in some versions of the English dub. When it isn't cut, after Ash suggests that Prima is only denying him a battle because she'll lose, she laughs. Ash replies by asking "Hey, what's so funny? Not only am I an undefeated Champion on this island, but I'm practically a Pokémon Master! C'mon, Prima, one battle?" To which Misty interjects that "The only thing you're the Master of is disaster!" Ash replies "Who asked you? Maybe you want me to teach you a lesson instead of Prima. Hey, I guess I could use another easy win." which really angers Misty, who states "What do you mean, 'another easy win?'" Ash continues as he walks away, "Oh well, if the great Prima's scared of me, I guess I'll find somebody who's not afraid to lose." Misty, still annoyed, rants to Prima, "Ugh... that Ash is so... If he ever did battle you, he'd see he's not as great as he thinks he is!". In the original Japanese version, he challenges her to a battle, but she smiles and doesn't take him seriously, and he blushes in embarrassment and anger. Ash then says something inappropriate about Misty in front of Prima. This really angers Misty, and she shouts at Ash, and he walks away and finds another Trainer to battle. This 25 second segment was cut from some versions of the English dub, and in that version, after Ash challenges Prima, it is simply implied that he feels sorry for her because she didn't accept his challenge.

* In the [[Pokémon in Latin America|Latin American]] dub, when Team Rocket is commenting about Prima and her Pokémon, Meowth's line ''"And of course, the best Trainer's Pokémon are in tip-top fighting shape."'' is rewritten as ''"{{tt|Y como siempre, los mejores Entrenadores... ¡tienen un cuerpazo!|And as always, the best Trainers... have a [great] body!}}"''. ''"Cuerpazo"'' is an impolite (and sometimes considered vulgar) way to say that the body of a person is physically attractive.
