The demolition crew are characters of the day who appeared in Celebi and Joy.

The demolitioners were first seen about to demolish a historic Pokémon Center in Marion Town to make way for a new one. Both an elder and younger Nurse Joy stood in the way to prevent the demolition crew from doing so even though the original mayor ordered them to do so before.

Ritchie came by when the workers sent out their Pokémon. He took them on with his Pokémon, Zippo, Sparky, and Rose. Ritchie was able to easily defeat them which caused the demolition crew to retreat.

After Ritchie returned from the past, the same demolition crew was seen but decided to restore the historic Pokémon Center instead of tearing it down.
