DP111: Difference between revisions

After succumbing to [[Team Galactic]]'s low frequency energy, {{TP|Riley|Lucario}} prepares to lash {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}} with an {{m|Aura Sphere}}. [[Riley]] blocks it using his [[aura]] and comments that he and his Lucario are [[Aura Guardian]]s in training. Riley tries to [[recall]] it to its {{i|Poké Ball}}, but Lucario breaks it with an aggressive {{m|Bone Rush}}. Ash rushes in and defends Riley from another strike of Bone Rush. {{an|Brock}} and Ash then restrain Lucario while {{AP|Pikachu}} {{m|Thunderbolt}}s it, but it continues to behave irately and runs directly to the wave-emitting ruins.

 

While the energy continues to beam from the [[Iron Island]] ruins and onto [[Mt. Coronet]], laboratories across [[Sinnoh]] are receiving trace information while the meteorite park in [[Veilstone City]] is emitting the same energy. Commander [[Mars]] reports her findings back to Team Galactic Headquarters, indicating the likely location of the legendary [[Spear Pillar]] is somewhere on Mt. Coronet. [[Cyrus]] orders the Iron island operation to continue while they receive data back at HQ.

 

As Lucario rushes towards the ruins, Mars has her {{p|Golbat}} and {{TP|Mars|Purugly}} on standby. Lucario is eventually struck down by {{m|Shadow Ball}} and Purugly's {{m|Fury Swipes}}. Riley suggests they go after Team Galactic machine. While jumping over a big hole, {{TP|Dawn|Piplup}} accidentally falls in. {{an|Dawn}} discovers this is the hole where {{an|Barry}} and {{TRT}} are. Dawn tries helping them out when a {{p|Steelix}} bursts from underground, making Dawn fall in as well. As Steelix pushes its head into the crevasse, Riley intervenes and uses his aura to shield Dawn and the others from harm. With Riley now occupied, Ash and Brock go ahead. Ash has {{AP|Staravia}} carry Pikachu on his back while [[Brock's Sudowoodo]] and {{TP|Brock|Croagunk}} defeat Mars’s Golbat army. Stavaria uses {{m|Brave Bird}} to defeat more Golbat while Pikachu delivers a devastating Thunderbolt that destroys Galactic's machine. The energy stops and the Steel types stop behaving aggressively.

 

Team Galactic only manages to scan 60% of Mt. Coronet in their search for the Spear Pillar. Cryrus pushes for a tactical retreat and orders the ruins be obliterated. Mars follows orders, and while defeated, she escapes with the [[Spear Key]]. Before her helicopter departure, Mars informs Riley and the others that she has installed bombs in the ruins, and will blow it up at any second. Riley and Lucario scan the entire island, and do indeed locate the bombs within the ruins. He orders Ash and the others leave while he will handle the situation. Ash complies and has Chimchar use {{m|Dig}} to help everybody escape the hole, but the ground is too hard, causing it to be recalled. Ash informs everyone of this, making the situation even direr. [[James]] begins to cry as {{TP|James|Mime Jr.}}. {{TP|James|Carnivine}} watch. Unexpectedly Carnivine learns {{m|Vine Whip}}, and uses its new [[move]] to help everyone escape the hole.

Now at a safe distance, Mars detonates the bomb. Iron Island shakes, but oddly there is no explosion. Mars is infuriated and presses the detonation button repeatedly, though one her crew members reveals that the sensors have detected the explosion. Deeply concerned about Riley, Ash and the others rush over to the ruins. Meanwhile, Riley and Lucario have managed to contain the explosion inside an aura bubble. They then send it to the sky, allowing it to explode without damage to the island. Riley and Lucario emerge from the ruins a little weary, but otherwise unscathed.

Team Rocket soon leaves in their [[Team Rocket's mechas|submarine]], determined to get their revenge on Team Galactic for wanting to destroy the {{pkmn|world}}. Having analysed the spikes in energy from the [[Celestic Town Historical Research Center]], [[Professor Carolina]] arrives to investigate the Iron Ruins further. Her preliminary analysis reveals that the ruins and the entire island are made of the same material as the [[Veilstone City]] meteorites. At Carolina's request, [[Riley]] agrees to help her study the island's mysterious connection with the Veilstone meteorites and Spear Pillar. Later, Ash's group says goodbye to Barry and the others as they leave for [[Chocovine Town]] and Dawn's next {{pkmn|Contest}}.

Back at Team Galactic Headquarters, Mars apologizes to Cyrus for her failure in destroying Iron Ruins. Cyrus tells her it's only a temporary setback, and places [[Saturn]] in charge of excavating the Spear Pillar. Even with only a 60% scan, Team Galactic have still made headway in their search for the Spear Pillar and their quest for the ability to control [[Sinnoh]] space-time will continue.
