Ash sends out {{AP|Turtwig}} to use {{m|Razor Leaf}} on Steelix in an attempt to stop it. Razor Leaf appears to work for a short while, but Steelix pulls itself together and chases Turtwig away with Hyper Beam and continues to charge toward the fountain.
