Cursed Body (Japanese: のろわれボディ Cursed Body) is an Ability introduced in Generation V. Five Pokémon have this Ability, all of which are pure or part Ghost-type Pokémon.

Effect

In battle

Cursed Body has a 30% chance of disabling the opponent's used move when attacked. This works even if the attacker is behind a substitute and when the user is knocked out, but will not activate if the Pokémon with Cursed Body is behind a substitute.

Outside of battle

Cursed Body has no effect outside of battle.

When Frillish is hit by an opponent's attack that causes physical contact, Frillish's body becomes surrounded in a dark indigo aura which then covers the opponent's body. The opponent can then no longer use the move that inflicted the damage onto Frillish.
