Clara

Clara (Japanese: ユキノ Yukino) is a character of the day who appeared in Gettin' Twiggy With It!. She lives between Sandgem Town and Jubilife City, where she runs a medicinal herb garden.
She first met Ash and his friends when he was blasted with Sleep Powder by a wild Oddish while he tried to get his Pikachu back from a wild Turtwig. Clara brought him, Brock, and Dawn to her cottage, where she gave Ash a herbal tea to help him recover. Upon awakening, he was worried about Pikachu, but Clara told him that everything was alright. She explained that Turtwig was just looking out for Pikachu's safety and was really a very caring Pokémon.
Clara revealed that she met Turtwig in a chance encounter. She found it exhausted and offered it some food. At first, it had too much pride to take the food, but it accepted the meal after its stomach said otherwise. Ash later made friends with Turtwig, much to Ash's surprise, it jumped up chomped down on his head. Ash asked what was up; Clara laughed and told Ash that it a sign that Turtwig likes someone. She demonstrated this when Turtwig came after her, only she had a stick for it to chew on instead.
Following a struggle with Team Rocket, Clara saw that Turtwig and Ash worked wonderfully together and recommended that he should capture it. Ash complied, and after a fierce battle, he added Turtwig to his team.

Clara knew Turtwig as a friend and protector of the community. After finding him wandering the area in exhaustion, Clara fed him some food. Turtwig remained in the area, where he quickly became the leader of the community and maintained the peace. In Gettin' Twiggy With It!, Clara quickly realized Turtwig and Ash would make a good team after seeing them take on Team Rocket. Following her recommendation, Ash battled Turtwig and successfully caught him. | ||
