Places of interest

Cabo Poco

Player's house

The player starts the game in their house, having recently moved to Paldea.

The player can obtain two sandwich recipes at the house over the course of the game's story. Talking to Mom will give the player the ability to use the recipes. The first one is unlocked after earning three Gym Badges, while the other one is available after becoming a Champion.

Nemona's house

Nemona's house is located down a path from the player's house. The player chooses their first partner Pokémon in front of it.

Private beach

There's a beach located behind Nemona's house. On it lies a battlefield, where the player and Nemona have their first battle. It is also a random battle background for Ranked Battles.

Demographics

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Cabo Poco has a population of 9 (not counting the player and Nemona), making it the least populated town in Paldea.

Main series

Cabo Poco is the hometown of Liko, her father Alex, and her mother Lucca. It first appeared in Welcome to Paldea!, where Liko returned home after visiting Mesagoza, accompanied by Roy and Friede. After getting her father's permission to continue traveling with the Rising Volt Tacklers, Liko left home once more.

In HZ046, Liko was shown to have returned home once more following her, Roy, and Dot's decision to learn more about the Terastal phenomenon. Lucca later escorted her to Los Platos, from where Liko continued on her own to Mesagoza so she could start attending Naranja Academy.

Biri-Biri

The battle court on the private beach behind Nemona's house appeared in the music video for Biri-Biri, where a battle was held between Anna's Fuecoco and Nemona's Sprigatito

Pokémon: Paldean Winds

Cabo Poco briefly appeared at the beginning of Breathe Together.

The battle court on the private beach behind Nemona's house is featured in the TCG as Beach Court, which was introduced as a Stadium card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Scarlet & Violet Series (the Japanese Scarlet & Violet Era). It was first released in the Japanese Scarlet ex set before debuting in English in the Scarlet & Violet expansion, with artwork by Oswaldo KATO. A gold-etched hyper rare print with artwork by the same illustrator was released in the Paradox Rift expansion. It reduces the retreat cost of all Basic Pokémon in play by 1.

Trivia

  • In Nemona's house in Cabo Poco, there is a painting that appears to reference Ash-Greninja, even though Ash-Greninja is not present in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet due to a change in the way its Battle Bond Ability works.
  • Even though Cabo Poco is considered a town in the game, it is actually more of a hamlet due to it consisting of only two houses.
