:::::::::In regards to why the pages are as they currently stand, it's not because of the player's Pokémon being variable, but because (nameable) game characters like May/Dawn/Serena are considered ''separate'' characters from their anime/manga counterparts (even if we happened to give them the same name), hence why they have "Counterparts" sections with other media on their pages. There is no main page titled "Serena" because we do not consider [[Serena (game)]] to be the same character as [[Serena (anime)]] or [[Y (Adventures)]]. Characters like [[Brendan (game)]]/[[Lucas (game)]] whose anime counterparts didn't make a notable appearance are listed on the game character's page, but under "Counterparts". (The rivals are currently in an in-between area with respect to this.)

:::::::::For characters like Professor Oak/Brock/Misty/Cilan/Iris, they're treated as a ''single'' character appearing in multiple media, hence why there is a main page at "Brock" with sections for his appearance in the anime and the manga.
