Brock

Brock (Japanese: Takeshi) in the anime is a Pokémon Breeder who is currently travelling with Ash, May, and Max through the Hoenn region. He makes scrumptious Pokémon food, and in he hits on every pretty girl he meets.

He is a domestic, taking care of the tasks of not only grooming his Pokémon, but also those of the kids he travels with. He handles the cooking and the cleaning -- something he is quite used to, being the oldest of ten children.

Brock was also the Gym Leader of Pewter City. Trainers who defeat him receive the Boulder Badge.

His family life deserves another mention, owing to it being most pecular. The father, Flint, left home to become a great trainer. When he never returned, the mother, Mizuho up and left them, leaving Brock to take care of his siblings by himself (the English version of Showdown in Pewter City has Flint claming she died, although he was clearly lying). It turned out Flint considered himself a failure and was selling rocks at the edge of town. When Brock left to journey with Ash, he left Flint in charge of the Pewter Gym.

Upon his return after journeying through Johto, Brock was dismayed to find that his mother had returned and commandeered the gym, turning the Rock-type haven into a Water-type den. Brock battled her for the honor of Rock-types and won, promising his brother Jiro that he would become Gym Leader someday.
