In Generations III and IV, beyond the sprouting stages, all Berry plants had different sprites as they grew. In Generation VI, Berry plants only have unique sprites in their final, harvestable stage. In Pokémon X and Y, the sprites for the earlier stages differ based on the Berry's color, but in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the earlier stages use the same sprite for all Berries.

Generation VII
section
Generation VII introduced no new berries. Berries can be obtained from Berry trees in the Alola region, which drop 3-5 berries every day. Sometimes, wild Crabrawler may appear from the berry piles to battle, and must be defeated or captured to obtain the Berries.
Aside from the Bluk Berry and Pinap Berry, Berries without a primary effect cannot be obtained in this generation.
Growth and care
Berries can be grown and harvested on Isle Aplenny at Poké Pelago. Growth care mechanics have been further reduced; unlike previous generations, there is no longer a need to water Berry patches to increase the yield. Berries have two stages of maturity, and fully grow in 24, 48, or 72 hours, depending on the Berry planted, and will remain at this stage until the player harvests the Berries by tapping on the trees. The time can be shortened by placing Poké Beans into the Bean Crate in the center of the island. When filled, each minute passed in real time deducts two minutes of growth time for all planted Berries.

Stages
The growth stage for a planted Berry can be shown upon touching the soil. Tapping on a fully grown tree harvests the Berries immediately and gives a count of how many were obtained. The table below is based on a Berry with a growth period of 24 hours.
