The makers of the books don't usually have anything to do with the anime and vice versa. If "boulder" were correct, they'd have kept saying it like that every time after, but they didn't, ergo it was a slip of the tongue. And pronunciations are official.
(No. Like I said, no official pronunciation means that this is technically not an error or trivia. And books are known to be inconsistent about pronunciations.)
