Astonish (Japanese: おどろかす Astonish) is a damage-dealing Ghost-type move introduced in Generation III.

Effect

Astonish inflicts damage and has a 30% chance of causing the target to flinch.

In Generation III only, Astonish will deal double the damage if its target had previously used Minimize.

Pokémon UNITE

In Pokémon UNITE, Astonish is Hoopa's first move and Decidueye's second move.

Hoopa starts with the move. The user deals damage to opposing Pokémon in the designated area of effect, leaving them unable to act for a short time. At level 6 this move is replaced by either Phantom Force or Shadow Ball.

Decidueye starts with the move. The user deals damage to enemies and decreases their movement speed by 80% for a short time. At level 8 this move is replaced by either Leaf Storm or Shadow Sneak.
