To enter the lottery, Japanese residents were required to call TV Tokyo between December 24 and December 30, 2015. Winners were notified by January 18, 2016, 100 of which were given this card. Other available prizes included 1 of 4 high-class Pokémon Tretta tiles and an Ash-Greninja Moncollé figure.

It was released again in Japan with a different promotional number and was available as an insert with Limited Edition B copies of Pocket Monsters XY&Z TV Anime Character Song Project Collection Volume 2 -Compilation-, released on October 26, 2016. This print features an image of Ash Ketchum in the bottom left corner of the artwork. Another version of the CD, Limited Edition A, was released on the same day, but came packaged with an Altaria card instead.
