Adaptability (Japanese: てきおうりょく Adaptable Power) is an ability introduced in Generation IV that doubles the power of a move that has the same type as the Pokémon using the move, thus increasing the STAB from 1.5x to 2x. Two Pokémon have this ability, both of them Template:Type2.

Uses for Adaptability

Increases sweeping power significantly. Choice Band Eevee with Adaptability can OHKO Infernape with a max power Return. Notably, Life Orb Porygon-Z with Adaptability, after a single Nasty Plot, will OHKO standard Blissey (714 HP / 316 SDef) with Hyper Beam. This is one of very few viable ways to KO Blissey with Special.
