A.C. and his colleagues were working when a security camera picked up three worn-out travelers at the front grate of the power plant. With little choice, they decided to let the travelers in and offered them food. However, before they knew it, the travelers attacked them and tied them together with a rope. The travelers revealed themselves to be Team Rocket in disguise and took over the power plant. Team Rocket used the power plant's antennae to send out waves that would control the Electric-type Pokémon in the vicinity and locked A.C. and his colleagues inside another room.

Sometime later, Ash and his friends broke into the power plant to investigate the strange behavior of the Electric-type Pokémon and the abnormal positioning of the power plant's antennae. They found the power plant workers and freed them, and they were informed that Team Rocket was behind all of the recent events. Ash and his friends decided to go after Team Rocket and stop them, while the power plant workers would take care of opening the mechanic doors that Team Rocket had locked en route to their current location. They stayed in contact with Ash and his friends through the intercom system of the power plant.

After Ash and his friends managed to stop Team Rocket and turn the energy flow of the power plant back to normal, A.C. and his colleagues thanked them for their efforts. A.C. reported that Lumiose City was receiving just enough power again, as Team Rocket's actions had caused a power outage in the city.
