Pokémon Trainer
A Pokémon trainer (Japanese: ポケモントレーナー Pokémon trainer) is a person who catches, trains, cares for, and battles Pokémon. Many trainers leave home at a young age and initiate battle with any other trainer with whom they make eye contact.
Pokémon trainers come in all sorts of classes: Youngsters tend to stay close to home, and Bug Catchers swarm about the Bug-filled forests. Hikers traverse mountains and caves, and Cooltrainers aspire to compete in the Pokémon League.
Many towns have a Gym with a Gym Leader, a trainer who, when defeated in battle, awards a Pokémon League Badge. Higher up on the chain are the Elite Four trainers, and the Pokémon League Champion.
There are also villainous teams of Pokémon trainers. These trainers use their Pokémon to take what they want and further their goals.
