MorpheusShipping

370Luvdisc.png This article is about shipping.
As hints and evidence for ships are mostly speculation, this page may contain personal points of view.

MorpheusShipping is the belief of a romantic relationship between Ash and Aoi. This shipping is canon, at least, by Aoi's part, since she developed a crush on Ash at the end of the summer school arc, meanwhile Ash remains oblivious of her feelings.

Hints

Aoi's hints

  • She copied Ash's training strategy with her rented Monferno.
  • Aoi is one of the few people to pose with Ash in his "I got a [insert item/badge/Pokémon]!" tradition.
  • Aoi seems embarrassed and blushing a lot looking at Ash sometimes on DP091, showing she was really touched by his gestures.
  • In the same episode she looked sad when Ash said that he saved her because they are friends, showing she probably expected a "more than a friend" answer.
  • When she saw the gang again in DP098, she blushed and played with her fingers.

Ash's hints

  • Ash risked his life to save Aoi from the ghost girl in DP090. Aoi even told him at one point to save himself, but he refused and even said he'd never drop her.
  • Ash saved her again from falling down a cliff in DP091.

General hints

  • They developed a fierce rivalry, but ended it on a note of friendship.
  • Aoi and Ash have exchanged high-fives and fist bumps, something Ash has rarely done with anyone.
  • When split into teams, Ash and Aoi always partner up. They also get into a lot of trouble together. Even when not partners, they tend to spend time together.
  • Aoi's Shinx and Pikachu get along well. Interestingly, Ash has a mouse (Pikachu), and Aoi has a cat (Shinx).
  • Both share many personality traits, such as a love of food and excellent battling skills.
  • In some scenes, the two can be seen staring at each other, most notably the closing frame of DP088.
  • Ash is based off of Red from the games, while Aoi's name can mean blue.
