Kenny (Japanese: ケンゴ Kengo) is a Pokémon coordinator who was friends with Dawn when they were young children. The two are rivals. His Japanese voice actress is 三田ゆう子 Yūko Mita.
In the Japanese version, for unrevealed reasons, he sometimes calls Hikari Pikari and in the dub he calls her Deedee .

- His Japanese name may be derived from 金剛 kongo, the Japanese word for "diamond". This is similar to how Shinji (Paul), who is Ash's rival, is similar to 真珠 shinju the Japanese word for "pearl".
- He may be loosely based on the concept of the Rival in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, featuring a similar personality.
