For the manga's English translated release, it was originally syndicated in issues of Nintendo Power in North America and Jetix magazine in the United Kingdom. It was later released in a collected volume by VIZ Media. While the individual chapter releases were published in a left-to-right reading format with reversed artwork, the book collection of Ginji's Rescue Team was the first Pokémon manga published by VIZ Media to retain the right-to-left Japanese reading format. All Pokémon titles published since have also been published in the original Japanese format.

Trivia

  • In France, this manga is published in two volumes of three chapters each, rather than as one volume of six chapters.
  • In an article that Nintendo Power ran about the then-upcoming Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, they included an english translation of chaper one in the original right-to-left format, as opposed to the left-to-right format that Viz had used up until the book release, along with a guide to reading the manga in the right-to-left format, which was included at the end of the article.
