(Japanese: ポッチャマ対スボミー！ヒカリ初バトル!! Pochama vs. Subomie! Hikari's First Battle!!) is the fourth episode of Diamond & Pearl. It was first broadcast in Japan on October 5, 2006.

Ash and Hikari have started travelling together, however they do not really fit each other. Wanting to get Ash to acknowledge her power, she challenges Pokemon minstrel Naoshi to a battle!

• At the time the title was revealed, スボミー Subomie had not yet been revealed.
• Music from Lucario and the Mystery of Mew was used as background music.
• The half time shots features Ash (wearing Diamond and Pearl's costume), Hikari and Brock. The first shot shown just before the commercial is a close up of them. The second shot shown right after the commercials shows the whole bodies of themselves. This will be the same shots for the rest of the series.

  • Most of the scenes in this segment are of the Pokémon Center Ash stayed at while preparing for his Battle Pyramid rematch, though the Center from DP002 and another one are also shown.
