They are generally depicted as teenagers or young adults with nets and bug cages. They specialize in strong Bug Pokémon. Bug Maniacs are more experienced Bug Catchers, usually having evolved Bug Pokémon on their battle teams. For example, a Bug Catcher will usually have bug Pokémon like Wurmple, Silcoon, Cascoon, etc. Bug Maniacs on the other hand, usually will have those Pokémon's evolved forms such as Beautifly, Dustox, or the rare Surskit and Masquerain (which can only be obtained by catching Surskit when they swarm). Some Bug Maniacs, when battled, will say that they were once Bug Catchers. Revealing that if Bug Catchers train for a long period of time and raise high-level Bug Pokémon.
