: Pokémon is all about becomings friends with, and understanding your Pokémon. So it doesn't make much sense that Brock wouldn't even know the gender of his own Pokémon. The argument of Coagunk having a crush on Brock doesn't hold water when you think about the fact that both Misty and Max have separated Brock from pretty girls in the past. So Croagunk's attacking Brock is no more an indication than the ear pulling was. [[User:Trainer-c|Trainer-c]] 12:55, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

::But if they're such good 'friends' with their Pokemon to know their gender, how come they never use definitive pronouns? Why do they always refer to their Pokemon as 'it' as if they do not know? If they did know, why would they in the first place? (From experience, I have NEVER seen anyone refer to an animal as an 'it' if the gender is known and they know the animal long enough.) I still do not think that Brock's marriage fantasy is enough to confirm it, because as far as I know, Croagunk didn't show signs of interest towards Joy's Croagunk. - Deoxys Ribonuke
