Goldeen, due to essentially being a fish, had difficulty battling on land, therefore it was used very little in battle, and when it was, it generally did poorly due to it's lack of battle experience, two such examples are a battle against Marina, where it lost to her Tentacruel, before Misty's Staryu took over and won. It was also used against Molly Hale's Kingdra, where it was again swiftly defeated.
