Talk:BW112: Difference between revisions

''This episode is notable for removing the events of the originally planned BW023 and BW024 from continuity, making the two-parter episode no longer part of canon.'' Is this technically true? We didn't know what was going to happen in them (aside from the vague "Team Rocket fights Team Plasma" and "Looker appears") and they were never referenced in any later episode, so were they ever part of the canon to begin with? As far as I understand, anime canon is {{tt|what is aired|with the most recent airing taking precedence in any contradictions}} and excludes any pre-production changes or advertising materials, so since these episodes were never aired, they were never canon at all. The most we can say is that this episode proved that TVTokyo no longer intended to rework and air BW023/024 as they had originally stated. Am I right or wrong? Those episodes were considered canon at the time the Burgh gym battle episode aired, in which Matori actually did vaguely reference the episodes by saying "Giovanni is very busy right now;" anyone who knows that the episodes existed would know that Giovanni being busy relates to the aftermath of those episodes. Jessie, James and Meowth also ask Matori for their "next mission" from Matori, and being that the previous mission was the Meteonite, acknowledging that the Meteonite mission is over is also an implicit acknowledgement that those episodes' events happened. --[[User:The Great Butler|The Great Butler]] ([[User talk:The Great Butler|talk]]) 05:18, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
