 Ash and Blaine battled, but Ash had a series of misfortunes. The first begin his [[Ash's Squirtle|Squirtle]] being defeated by Blaine's {{p|Ninetales}}. Then, his [[Ash's Charizard|Charizard]] refused to listen to him. Finally, [[Ash's Pikachu|Pikachu]] received severe burns caused by his {{p|Magmar}}'s {{m|Fire Blast}}. Ash called off the battle, not wanting Pikachu to get injured.
