* Jessie and James have more numerous examples of intimate physical contact than any other humans in the anime, including holding hands, linking arms, hugging and sleeping on one another. : In the Latin American Spanish dub, right after Jessie leaves, James yells, "¡Querer es poder!"; or, "Desire is power." It is analogous to saying 'When there is a will there is a way'; but ''querer'' literally means "to desire" or "to love," so it is a curious choice of expression.

: In the Latin American Spanish dub, while crying before a campfire, James references the song "No Hay Quien Te Aguante" by {{wp|Hector Lavoe|Héctor Lavoe}}. The song is about a man whose relationship ended because he slaved away at work and spent every last penny on his girlfriend, but she only returned his sacrifices and affection with contempt. * Jessie and James have a similar style of dress and normally coordinate their outfits.

* Jessie and James have had voice actors with prominent roles in the {{wp|Slayers}} anime series. Jessie's seiyuu, [[Megumi Hayashibara]], is also seiyuu to the main protagonist and heroine of Slayers, {{wp|Lina Inverse}}, while James's most famous English voice actor, [[Eric Stuart]], dubbed the voice for Lina's self-proclaimed guardian and constant traveling companion, {{wp|Gourry Gabriev}}. Incidentally, these two characters fall in love with each other over the course of the series.
