 Alain has a tendency to push away the people he wants to protect. During his time working at Professor Sycamore's lab, Alain was much more cheerful than he is in the present. While he has distanced himself from Professor Sycamore, it is clear he is still concerned about him. In [[SS032]], Alain purposely tried to leave Mairin behind to keep her from his dangerous mission of engaging Primal Groudon and Kyogre. Failing that, he later returned to Kalos alone, leaving her behind.
-He also seems to be fooled easily by other people as he seems to be following Lysandre's orders despite his suspicious actions for example in Act 3 where he obtained the Giant Key Stone out of everyone's surprise, unlike Manon however as she seems to be suspicious around Lysandre getting worried about Alain when he around Lysandre as well as Steven who speaks in a cautious manner to Lysandre espeically in Act 3 where he is also puzzled at Lysandre obataining the Giant Key Stone out of no where.
