One of the legends about how the Legendary Beasts were created is that they were once the three original evolutions of Eevee: Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon. Legend of course states that three pokemon perished in the Brass Tower in Ecruteak City and were later on revived by Ho-oh as the beasts. The eeveelutions share same types with their coresponding beast, but also share the same color scheme in their designs. | |||
In Generation 5, the three Legendary Beasts were given dream world abilities, Raikou gifted with Volt Absorb, Entei with Flash Fire, And Suicine with Water Absorb. Further adding evidence to this theory is that these were also the exact same abilities as the original eeveelutions. | |||
