::While I can't personally verify this (can only search videos on YouTube), it looks like Negotiations trades are the mechanism used for '''all''' Generation V trading, online or off. Every previous generation (GTS notwithstanding) only allowed you to trade members of your active party. And while I haven't attempted logging on to the GTS in Black 2 yet, its manual implies that Negotiations trades are the only method of GTS trading the sequels even support.
