However,if you are not near a Nintendo Pokemon promotional event, then cheating devices may be necessary. Pokemon that may only be obtained by a Nintendo promotional event may require gamesharks,etc. if you were not in attendence for it.
Some will justify using cheating devices to get Pokémon when they cannot attend [[Nintendo]] [[List of Nintendo Pokémon promotional events|promotional event]], the only legitimate way to get these Pokémon. Whether or not this is a valid excuse for cheating is a matter of opinion.
