I'm about to go to bed now, 'cause its super late over here however before I go (in case you were still wondering how they got the translation) but I forgot to mention [specifically] the code was cracked by trial & error - testing different letters in different positions to see how they fit, that's usually how decoding a cipher works. Silktree/the OP admits that [http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/showthread.php?t=86617 here].
