The article currently notes that prior to [[Generation V]], the game divides the target's Defense score by half when calculating damage (and to prevent dividing by zero, rounds zero up to one). Thus, if the target had a Defense score of exactly 1 point, Selfdestruct would inflict the rated base power instead of double its base power.
