| :Yes, and remember that new generations have come out when a new ''GameBoy'' or ''Nintendo'' portable console is introduced. Wish will likely happen in 2011, because of the usual two year gap. | They can't really be considered Generation V, since they don't introduce a new region, new Pokemon, and new player characters. Nintendo will have probably released the successor to the DS by the time Generation V starts. Besides, FireRed and LeafGreen were remakes of Red and Blue, but they were still considered Generation III because they were released on GBA and could communicate with Ruby and Sapphire.
