Venonat is very similar both ability wise and physically to the pokemon {{p|Butterfree}} however, unlike Butterfree, Venonat has no wings, thicker anttenae, alternately coloured feet and seemingly more fur. Venonat is also unable to learn flying attacks until evolution.Venomoth is also similar physically and ability wise to Butterfree, which insinuates that their evolution lines are connected somehow, in a similar manner to how the {{p|Weedle}} evolution line also see to be.
