Ramos enjoys a steady-paced life and he is often seen riding his faithful {{p|Gogoat}}. Ramos runs a Pokémon ranch on the outskirts of [[Coumarine City]], where he raises and studies {{t|Grass}} Pokémon. In his [[XY057|debut]], Ramos lectured {{Ash}} on the importance of not only facing challenges head-on, but sometimes taking the "side road" as well. He demonstrated this by using {{p|Jumpluff}} and {{p|Sunflora}} to melt the snow rather than attack {{p|Vanillish}} and {{p|Vanilluxe}}, and later by using {{p|Gogoat}}'s attacks to immobilize {{TRT}}'s machine rather than trying to immediately destroy it. In ''[[XY058|The Green, Green Grass Types of Home!]]'', Ramos relied on overpowering attacks and his team's defences in his Gym battle against {{Ash}}, though he ultimately lost.
