Quaxly (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Quaxly appears to be based on a young crested {[wp|duck}} or {{wp|swan}}. Its hair patch resembles a {{wp|beret}} or a {{wp|sailor cap}}. Its teal feet and hair may be inspired by the {{wp|blue-footed booby}} (a species of water bird known for their bright blue feet), or a pun on the {{wp|Eurasian teal|teal}} (a type of duck); the latter is supported by the fact that Quaxly's [[Pokémon category|category]] in Japanese, こがもポケモン ''Kogamo Pokémon'', can both translate to "Duckling Pokémon" or "Teal Pokémon".
