:::I see what you mean with the practical concerns; "Base Stats (fan term)" is even more clunky when used outside of a title. If we can get a consensus on what term to use, I suppose that would justify using a new name. I think that a disambiguation template, as Pikachu Bros. suggested, would be necessary on the new "Base stats" page if we do coin a term, as most searches for "base stats" will be for this page, not for EVs. ::::Hi there, I'm pretty new to learning about the Pokemon games and I wanted to post here because I was trying to learn more about base stats and I would like to offer you an outside perspective.  I saw that buying vitamins boosted base stats but saw IV's and EV's and didn't know what to make of it all.  It took me hours of reading this site, Smogon, Serbii and others to really get a handle on it.  I would have love to have seen the info posted by Stratelier (describing the hidden values that affect base stats).  As for this ridiculous argument, it seems pretty apparent to me as an outsider (I just downloaded a VBA emulator and am playing emerald as my first game) that the "base stats" refer to a pokemons starting stats. That means they refer to the stats given to that Pokemon based on type.  Base stats are then affected by IV's, EV's, and Nature.  Those things change base stats but are not base stats themselves.  I apologize for speaking on a closed topic but I felt moved to, sorry.  Best of luck with this and thanks for all your work to put this great resource together, it is by far the most natural to navigate and useful Pokemon resource out there.
