Doduo is a two-headed, bird-like bipedal Pokémon. Each head has a long sharp beak, and two beady black eyes with no discernible sclera. It has a soft but bristly, {{wp|Down_feather|down-like}} covering of brown feathers on its body and both heads. The males of the species have a black coloring on their flexible neck, whereas females have a brown coloring; both genders have brown coloring on their legs. Due to its {{DL|List of Pokémon by body style|Pokémon consisting of a head and legs|almost non-existent wings}}, it cannot fly very well but has developed its legs to be very powerful runner. Reaching speeds of {{tt|60 mph|96.5 km/h}}, it energetically strides across the planes leaving large, {{tt|4"|10.6 cm}} deep foot prints behind it. It has tetradactyl type feet, with each of its four digits ending with a sharp claw. Even when sleeping or nourishing itself with food and water, one head is always awake and alert, keeping a keen eye out for enemies. Both heads have an identical brain, however it is believed that on occasion they may possess different sets of brains. It is also theorized that the two heads communicate with some form of telepathy to be in sync with one another. Doduo live in wide open plains, {{DL|List of Pokémon by habitat|grasslands}}, and savannahs. They rarely live in forests but are sometimes found in scrublands and deserts. While primarily native to the [[Kanto]] Region, some populations can be found within [[Sinnoh]]. It has also been imported to the {{safari|Johto|Johto}} and {{safari|Hoenn|Hoenn Safari Zones}} as well. | |||
