Hearthome City: Difference between revisions

The biggest attraction, garnering contestants from all throughout the region, is the Super Contest Hall. The Super Contest Hall is an expanded format of the [[Pokémon Contest]]s, within [[Hoenn]]. In it, [[Pokémon]] are rated on their appearance and performance, rather than strength. They are different from the previous generation's competitions in that not only do they have more rounds, but rounds from the earlier games have been altered. They come in four rankings in the same five categories as the [[Contests]]:  [[Cool Contest|Cool]], [[Beauty Contest|Beauty]], [[Cute Contest|Cute]], [[Smart Contest|Smart]] and [[Tough Contest|Tough]]. There are three rounds, each one uses different skill for the Pokémon and their partner. The first round is the Visual Competition, where Pokémon are dressed up and judged on their [[condition]] in the appropriate category. These stats can be raised using [[Poffin]]s, rather than the [[Pokéblock]]s of the previous generation. The second round is the Dance Competition, in which all four participating Pokémon must dance to earn points. The dancer in front chooses up to three steps in the Normal and Great Ranks, and four in the Ultra and Master Ranks, matching the beat as closely as possible, and then the back-up dancers try to match the lead dancer's moves. The last and the most important round is the Acting Competition. Pokémon perform [[move]]s for one of the three judges, [[Jordan]], [[Contest Judge Dexter|Dexter]] and [[Keira]], to earn appeal points.  At the end of each round, judges award extra points to the Pokémon: 3 points if only one Pokémon performed to them, 2 points each if two Pokémon performed to them, 1 point apiece if three Pokémon performed to them, and none if all Pokémon performed to them.  This competition has four rounds, rather than the five rounds found in the regular contests. The Pokémon, contrary to the regular contests, get their position by their scoring in reverse. The best scorer goes last and the worst scorer goes first. At the end of each Super Contest is a prize giving ceremony, in which the winning Pokémon will receive a [[ribbon]] for the contest type and rank. They will also receive a special accessory the first time the contest is completed successfully. The city's [[Gym Leader]], [[Fantina]], is a self-proclaimed master at Pokémon Super Contests.  

 

The Sinnoh's Pokémon Fan Club is located in the eastern area of Hearthome City. The Fan Club is basically a place for people to meet and chat about their favorite Pokémon and to show off their collections to each other. In general, the members are usually more oriented to unevolved, cute Pokémon and [[Pokémon Contests]] than [[Pokémon Battles]]. The Sinnoh Pokémon Fan Club Chairman says that his Fan Club is number one nationwide because he brags more than anyone. However, he doesn't do it anymore because of people's complaints. This may also explain why only two other member are found in his club. Inside the Pokémon Fan Club, the player will receive the [[Poffin Case]], needed to bake [[Poffin]]. In {{v2|Platinum}}, another member of the club will rate the [[happiness]] of first Pokémon in the player's party.
