Pokémon availability (Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!): Difference between revisions

The first 150 species in the [[List of Pokémon by Kanto Pokédex number|Kanto Pokédex]] are obtainable in-game, subject to 4 [[Trade evolution]]s and [[Version-exclusive Pokémon#Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!|11 version exclusives each]]—which would normally necessitate trading between versions for Pokédex completion, but upon reaching [[Fuchsia City]], these 150 can also be transferred (one-way) into the games from {{G|GO}} via the [[GO Park]]. Using this transfer method, {{p|Meltan}} and {{p|Melmetal}} become obtainable. The other Mythical Pokémon, {{P|Mew}}, is exclusively obtained from the [[Poké Ball Plus]]. Only one Mew is obtainable per Poké Ball Plus; and Meltan is only able to evolve into Melmetal within Pokémon GO.

All of the 150 except for {{p|Mewtwo}} are repeatedly obtainable in-game when combining both versions, although some require reviving [[Cerulean Cave]] fossils (of {{p|Aerodactyl}}, {{p|Kabuto}} or {{p|Omanyte}}), or by catching rare spawns. These rare spawns, which allow for exclusive [[List of in-game event Pokémon (Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!)|in-game event Pokémon]] to be recaptured, include the Kanto {{pkmn2|first partner}} Pokémon ({{p|Bulbasaur}}, {{p|Charmander}}, {{p|Squirtle}}), the [[Fighting Dojo]] prizes ({{p|Hitmonlee}} and {{p|Hitmonchan}}), as well as {{p|Lapras}}, {{p|Porygon}}, {{p|Snorlax}}, and {{p|Chansey}} (the latter not being rare in Cerulean Cave). The remaining rare spawns, which are in the sky and only unlocked after becoming {{pkmn|Champion}}, consist of {{p|Charizard}}, {{p|Dragonite}}, and the [[Legendary birds]] ({{p|Articuno}}, {{p|Zapdos}}, {{p|Moltres}}). Without [[Catch Combo]]s, these rare spawns generate at a combined 1 in 200 chance—the exception is the Legendary birds, which instead have a 1 in 2000 combined chance of being generated.

Most species are catchable in ''Let's Go, Pikachu! (LGP)'' and ''Let's Go, Eevee! (LGE)'', but 22 require evolving the previous evolutionary stage. The species that require evolution include the 5 remaining Kanto {{pkmn2|first partner}} evolutions ({{p|Ivysaur}}, {{p|Venusaur}}, {{p|Charmeleon}}, {{p|Wartortle}}, and {{p|Blastoise}}); the 4 Let's Go partner evolutions ({{p|Raichu}}, {{p|Vaporeon}}, {{p|Jolteon}}, and {{p|Flareon}}); 2 version-exclusives ({{p|Arbok}} for LGE and {{p|Sandslash}} for LGP); the 4 [[Trade evolution]]s ({{p|Alakazam}}, {{p|Machamp}}, {{p|Golem}} and {{p|Gengar}}); the 2 [[Fossil]] evolutions ({{p|Kabutops}} and {{p|Omastar}}); and finally, 5 other evolutions ({{p|Wigglytuff}}, {{p|Parasect}}, {{p|Primeape}}, {{p|Hypno}} and {{p|Marowak}}). Additionally, {{p|Butterfree}} is not catchable in LGE and {{p|Beedrill}} is not catchable in LGP.

Combing both versions, a total of 346 gender-form combinations are possible. 158 forms, consisting of 126 Species, 18 Alolan forms, 12 Mega Evolutions and both partner forms, can be both female and male, amounting to 316 combinations after doubling. The remaining combinations are from 30 single gender forms, including 17 gender unknown forms ({{p|Magnemite}}, {{p|Magneton}}, {{p|Voltorb}}, {{p|Electrode}}, {{p|Staryu}}, {{p|Starmie}}, {{p|Ditto}}, {{p|Porygon}}, {{p|Articuno}}, {{p|Zapdos}}, {{p|Moltres}}, {{p|Mewtwo}}, [[Mewtwonite X|Mega Mewtwo X]], [[Mewtwonite Y|Mega Mewtwo Y]], {{p|Mew}}, {{p|Meltan}}, and {{p|Melmetal}}), 6 Male-only forms ({{p|Nidoran♂}}, {{p|Nidorino}}, {{p|Nidoking}}, {{p|Hitmonlee}}, {{p|Hitmonchan}}, and {{p|Tauros}}), and 7 Female-only forms ({{p|Nidoran♀}}, {{p|Nidorina}}, {{p|Nidoqueen}}, {{p|Chansey}}, {{p|Kangaskhan}}, [[Kangaskhanite|Mega Kangaskhan]], and {{p|Jynx}}).
