:::I asked Adil for his opinion, and he said that it would be okay to add a column for the literal interpretations ("Bulbasaur", "Musclebuzz", "Iron Yoddha", etc.) to the list page. The name origins should still go on the individual Pokémon pages though (such as translating योद्धा yoddhā as "brave", or breaking down names into individual constituent words). I'll note that if there ends up being major arguments over how to interpret the names, the page might end up having to be protected. --Abcboy (talk) 03:50, 17 September 2023 (UTC)

indent Using a text dump linked to from your user page, I found this and this which contains all the Pokémon names directly spelled in Hindi. Is it worth mentioning on the list of Hindi Pokémon names article? Currently the page only mentions that Pokémon were referred to by their English names in spoken media like the anime. This is the first time I've seen some "official" Hindi spellings for English Pokémon names. Maybe the individual Pokémon articles can have both these Hindi spellings of English names, and the entirely new Hindi names? → <span style="color:#000;">Pika</span><span style="color:#000;">Tepig</span><span style="color:#000;">999</span> 08:08, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

:From what I can tell, those names from GO were never actually used, so I don't think they would count. There's been Hindi-language text in the Pokémon GO files for almost a year, but it didn't officially launch until September 15, by which point they had changed all the names in GO to the new ones. I did see that UNITE apparently has some names written in Hindi in Devanagari, so maybe that would be a better place to check. --Abcboy (talk) 08:31, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
